So today, I'm working on Christmas cards, which matches the BSU theme today. I've got the radio blasting Christmas songs to help me to get in the spirit & crank these cards out. I'm just happy that I had a good start in Kerri's classes over the last month or I may still be working on my 1st set with a long way to go. For mass production of about 10 each, I tend to go for the quick & easy cards, as I've learned over the years if they involve a lot of steps, embossing etc. I tend to only stamp about 5.
For this card, Pool Party Card Stock was used as the base, followed by a layer of Night Of Navy Card Stock that was dry embossed using the Big Shot & the Woodlands TIEF, which was then stamped using Craft White Ink & the snowflake from the Peaceful Pines Stamp Set. Next, a layer of Garden Green Card Stock & all 3 trees from the Perfect Pines Framelits were run through the Big Shot at the same time, with the biggest tree being run through a 2nd time to get the branches on it & brushed with a little of the Craft White Ink using a Stampin' Dauber. For the 2 other trees, they were stamped using Craft White Ink with little snowballs/snowflakes & the sentiment from the Peaceful Pines Stamp Set. Before adhering the trees to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals, stars were added using the retired Merry Minis Star Punch with the Silver Glimmer Paper. Voila, the card is done! Again, this was an easy version of the card, you can emboss the trees using White Embossing Powder instead or make your own configurations using the framelits.
Don't forget to head on over to Carol's blog HERE and then to Stace's blog HERE. To see what both did for this week's challenge. I'm sure both will be fantastic. Hope you try this challenge out too! We have a new Facebook group if you want to join us and show us what you came up with HERE.
